Creating screenshots

When surveying electronic records at the premises of depositors it can be useful to create screenshots which can be saved or printed. These provide a record of the original directory structures used to manage email and other documents.

Prepare the image that you want to record. As the image taken will be a shot of the screen, you may wish to enlarge the relevant window to fill the screen and minimise, or close, other windows.

Locate and press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. This copies the screenshot to your clipboard.

Open a graphics program (you could use 'Paint', which comes as standard with Microsoft Windows operating systems and is located under Programs > Accessories > Paint) and paste the image by holding down the Ctrl and v keys simultaneously. Alternatively select Paste from the Edit menu.

You can now save the image on removable media, or print the screenshot so that you can annotate it.
