Glossary - T
Thunderbird
A free, open-source (see Glossary entry for Open source) and cross-platform email client for most operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Macintosh. It is created and maintained by the Mozilla Foundation. Thunderbird is better suited to long-term preservation than some proprietary email clients because it saves email in an open, non-proprietary format.
