Significant properties
Significant properties are those aspects of a digital object which it is essential to preserve in order for the object to remain accessible and meaningful over time as it is moved to new technologies. Significant properties fall into five broad categories: content; context; appearance; behaviour; and structure. Preserving a digital object's significant properties can also help to ensure that it retains its authenticity and integrity over time.
