PREMIS - PREservation Metadata Implementation Strategies
The PREMIS working group (2001-5) was sponsored by RLG and OCLC. PREMIS brought together preservation metadata experts from a variety of sectors in order to develop a core preservation metadata set, supported by a data dictionary, In May 2005 the group produced the PREMIS data dictionary and schemas. A maintenance activity site, hosted by the Library of Congress, has been established to coordinate future revisions of PREMIS. A PREMIS Implementers Group (PIG) has also been founded.
