ODF - Open Document Format
ODF is a vendor-neutral file format for describing office documents including word processed documents, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics and formulae. It was developed by a technical committee under the Organization for the Advancement of structured Information Standards (OASIS) and ratified as ISO/IEC 26300:2006 in 2006. It is significant for digital archivists because it is a preservation friendly format being an open, XML-based standard, supported by numerous software applications.
