NISO - National Information Standards Organization
NISO is an American non-profit organisation which identifies, develops, maintains and publishes technical standards for the management of information in the digital environment. This includes standards relating to retrieval, re-purposing, storage, metadata and preservation. Some NISO standards are directly relevant to the work of digital archivists, e.g. Technical Metadata for Digital Still Images, and the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set.
