Information Package
The OAIS model for information: there are three types of Information Package: SIP, AIP and DIP. Each information package contains the content to be preserved and its associated metadata (known as Preservation Description Information in OAIS). The METS standard is designed to act as a wrapper and can therefore be used to create the 'Information Packages' specified by the OAIS model.
