DIP - Dissemination Information Package
The DIP is one of three kinds of 'information package' specified in OAIS' information model; each of these information packages are the content to be preserved plus its associated metadata at a given point in the OAIS. The DIP is the package dispensed to users of the OAIS; DIPs could be generated on demand from AIPs, or they might be prepared in advance. The metadata presented with the object, and the format in which the object is presented will be dependent on the knowledge and needs of the user.
