Creator

This is an ambiguous term in archives. Strictly, the creator of a record is the person who authored it, e.g. the writer of a document or letter, or the taker of a photograph. Under copyright law, the creator (or 'author') of a record is usually the first copyright holder and strict definitions of 'author' are set out for each record type. However, in an archival environment, the 'creator' of an archive is the person who created, received and accumulated the documents which make up that archive, although many individual record creators are likely to be represented in the archive's content, e.g. correspondents who have sent emails to the archive's creator.
