AIP - Archival Information Package
The AIP is one of three kinds of 'information package' specified in OAIS reference model; each of these information packages consist of the content to be preserved plus its associated metadata at a given point in the OAIS. The AIP is the package submitted to archival storage for long term preservation; it is generated from the SIP, and will form the basis of the DIP
